What is memory translation?

Memory translation is a key element of the qwertyword process: it can significantly raise productivity, speed the delivery process (turn-around time) and ensure a higher level of consistency, especially when the same client commissions a number of translation assignments over an extended period. The memory translation software stores key phrases and sentences, such that when that phrase or sentence re-occurs, the human translator is offered the previous translation which he can adopt or reject manually according to its contextual suitability. Thus memory translation in the qwerty process supports consistency of terminology, of communication standards and enhances consistency in presentation. Memory translation is not the same as machine translation and the two should never be confused. Memory translation tracks the source-to-target translation process.
