What is computer aided translation (“CAT”)?

This is a form of memory translation, which we use. It means that, once a particular phrase has been translated, it is retained in the generic database. If that phrase in that same language occurs again, the computer will instantly flag up the previously used phraseology. The translator decides if it is appropriate: the memory database has shown up a possible translation to the given sentence.
