Can you translate our website?

Yes, we certainly can. We always like to get involved in this process as early as possible in order to save you time, money and to avoid duplication of effort and re-working.

As a rule of thumb, translating English material into French, Spanish and Italian, the main ‘Latin’ languages, will result in an increased space usage of 10% with the same font type and size.

If the translation is into German, then the space increase (‘translation expansion’) is between 20% and 25%.

So web pages need to be designed, if the same effect and presentation is required across languages, as is generally preferred, bearing in mind that the German translation will take up the most space and the other ‘Latin’ language translations take less, but still more than English.

We can download material directly from your website, work on it and return it to you or the webmaster for re-loading or, given access and approval, can re-load it ourselves.

Often, translating a website is more than just the translation of content. Where there are links from the home page in alphabetical order, then the sequence will change by translation: the word ‘door’ begins with a ‘d’ in English, ‘p’ in French (porte) and ‘t’ in German (tur): obviously a certain amount of reprogramming is required.
